why gale hawthorne didn’t kill prim:
1. we’re not even sure if he actually did make the bomb. it’s a possibility, but gale even says that they’re not sure.
He doesn’t answer, so finally I just say it. “Was it your bomb?”
“I don’t know. Neither does Beetee,” he says. “Does it matter? You’ll always be thinking about it.”
He waits for me to deny it; I want to deny it, but it’s true. Even now I can see the flash that ignites her, feel the heat of the flames. And I will never be able to separate that moment from Gale.
2. even if it was his bomb, he didn’t *kill* prim. the only one that can be blamed for killing prim would be coin, because she used the bombs. gale might have made the weapon, but he wasn’t the one that used it. the guy who invented the gun, or gunpowder, isn’t responsible for all the deaths that came from it. the people who are responsible are the people who *use* the weapon.
3. he worked on it with beetee? like no one ever blames beetee? gale wouldn’t have any information on how to invent such a thing without beetee??? i’m not blaming beetee, but jfc like if you’re dumb enough to blame gale, you have to blame beetee too. it was probably 70% beetee’s creation, since gale isn’t as smart/doesn’t have the experience that beetee has.
